Hi,
I have decided to start a collection of Arthur Ransome's books for my young daughter.I live in America ,I'm married to an American, but would like my daughter to have a chance to enjoy the books I read as a child.
I am interested in first editions and have a question regarding Swallows and Amazons.
I believe that this book was first published in 1930, ( unillustrated)
and that the illustrated edition was first printed in 1931?
Would anybody know how many printings there were of the illustrated edition in 1931?
I have the chance to purchase a copy from 1931, I have not seen the book but in the description it states, (1931, later print).
If it is infact an illustrated copy from 1931, would that make it a first print of the illustrated edition?
Hope this makes sense to you! thanks in advance for any replies,
Terry.
