He too only says "later" for the correction of Paggy to Dot. So Tarboard has established that the change was in 1948.
Wayne also notes that the American edition has the 'wrong' picture of In the cabin of the Pterodactyl. Since it was corrected at the last minute for Cape, they must have sent off the proofs already to Macmillans in New York, even though it was not published till May 1948, 9 months after the UK First Edition.
