I also enjoy owning "real" books -- at least those that I would like to continue to own. In fact a large portion of the books that I have on my iPad are books I already own as physical copies -- but are my ongoing favorites to which I enjoy returning time and again, especially on trips. E.g. the S&A books. Others are books I want to/have read once but don't anticipate wanting to continue to own them enough to purchase physical copies. And yet others are "free" books of one form or another, either old, for research, reference, etc. etc. The technologies are entirely complementary; unfortunately the licensing issues haven't been aligned well as yet.
