I'm a bit late to the party with this, but please excuse me as I have been in hospital for sometime.
I read some of the Drinkwater books and quite enjoyed them, but it is Woodman's non-fiction that I like. As I type this I can see my copy of "The Real Cruel Sea", tells of the hardships and tribulations of merchant seaman during WW2. His book covering the Malta convoys I have borrowed from the library and I keep meaning to lookout for a copy of my own.
