I had a few clues to offer if necessary - she rides a horse called Binky and does indeed become a governess in a later book - which I hoped would be suitably misleading But of course her greatest claim to fame, quite unshared by her literary predecessor, is that she is Death's granddaughter.
What amazes me about this passage is how accurate a representation of the Swallows mate's character this is - the more so since Pratchett himself claims to have been "negatively enthusiastic" about the Swallows and Amazons. I find it quite easy to forgive him this.
