All the books were 7/6d up to the publication of ML. PM (1943) went up to 8/6d, and the dust jacket says, "All the books are illustrated and each costs 8s. 6d. net"
GN (1949) brought another price increase to 9/-. Again, the back of the dust jacket shows this applied to all the series.
7/6d was worth $1.50 at the time. In fact, half a crown (2/6d) was often called "half a dollar".
