Yes, I became very interested in photography through Dick. This was in 1948-9 and we didn't have a place I could do a dark room, but I did obtain a camera (an old Kodak Autographic) and tried all kinds of fun ways to manipulate film! I did not actually get into a darkroom for another eight years (in Germany), but I read every book in the Public Library on photography, especially early photography - how to use flash powder, like Dick did in Big Six. This is one of the reasons I liked and still like this entire series, I felt as if I could participate in similar adventures, and did (still do). A PHOTARS site would be fun - maybe I will have to figure out how to make my scanner function as a scanner instead of a place to park my "Digital Cameras for the Compleat Idiot" book! EA
