A quick Google search suggests it's a manufacturer's name genericized to apply to all sleeper cars. An article on the exhibition includes this quote:
Among the stars of the exhibition is the NRM's 1936 continental sleeping car, Wagons-Lit, which was built for use on the night ferry to France and, until the opening of the Channel Tunnel, remained Britain's only international train.
