The Petrel dinghy was built in or near Toronto, I think, about 20 to 30 years ago. As mentioned previously really is all aluminum except for the tiller...and a little piece of teak along the top of the pivot-board trunk. It is about 12' long with a closed forward deck, seats on each side of the cockpit which enclose water-tight compartments and a standard sloop rig. The main-sail is loose-footed. The rudder is pivoted and the hull is soft-chined (round-bilge). I sail it in our small lake, one of many within Sudbury. Because I am getting old, I built a launching dolly for it last year.
