"Blued" is a made-up word, the past tense of "blow" being, indeed, "blown," but it's made-up-ness might perhap be why AR used it -- knowing that "blewed" was anyway wrong, and determining to make it reely rong,,,,

It's use (in whichever spelling) was common in our household when I was a boy, and we still use it from time to time. And John's definition is exactly right -- the entire amount being "used up on" the purchase.
