Actually, it was Congressman Bono, from Palm Springs, California, but the inference was correct. There is, however, a court battle looming in the US over the post-death copyright period. It appears that unless a recent extension is allowed, many things will be in the public domain in the US by 2004. The impetus for this concern was the Disney empire, Mickey Mouse,etc.
