It is interesting that egg collecting was seen in AR's time as 'normal'. I can remember a book of my late uncle, called something like 100 Things A Boy Can Make And Do, which referred to egg collecting and what you did with the eggs as something everyone did and would want to do.
Now of course, we have quite wide ranging laws and penalties for such activity. Despite that there are still those who collect. What was, and for some is, the attraction?
