I stand corrected. Cancel that entail; it is not required by the hypothesis, it adds nothing to it and in any case it is obsolete!
Since we have all been told that Beckfoot was loosely modelled on Lanehead, the home of the Collingwoods, with whom AR was friendly as a young man, it seems possible that the Turners might have a similar sort of background to the Collingwoods. Since we are also told that AR proposed in a puppyish sort of way to each of the Collingwood daughters, we have a possible origin for Nancy and Peggy, also.
