I must be one of the rarities, one who discovered AR later in life; in my case, in my forties. I had read references in "Yachting Monthly" and similar British saling magazines to "Secret Water" and "Goblin", and so on, not to mention this chap Ransome, so I investigated at my local library. Lo! and Behold! They had the full series! I was hooked! I noticed a few years later that I had been just in time, as the whole collection had been removed as irrelevant. I am now building my own collection. My own children regard me as being a bit dotty, and they're all grown up, so I don't bother trying to get them interested. I can't get interested in their computer games, so I don't expect them to follow my enthusiasms.
