Apparently there is a distinct possibility that these DVDs will come out Region 0 -- without explicit Region encoding. If so, I believe they should play on any DVD player. HOWEVER the issue of PAL versus NTSC or SECOM video formatting will still be an issue I think. Buy at your own risk.
