Jib-booms and bobstays! Your knowledge of the series is amazing! I found your message
to be most facinating though I couldn't read many of the quotes. This is simply due to the
fact that I haven't finished reading the series (I'm up to chapter IX of BS). I did however
read your analyses of the quotes and of the characters. I found it to be interesting that
while Dorothea could, of course, read Dick's signs, that Nancy could too. I was wondering
if you, or anyone else, thought that the recognition and interpretation of the "signs" of
the particular characters was better accomplished by their siblings or whether the others
seemed to gain this ability over time. This familiarity could be used to gain insight on the
nature and depth of relationship the S. A's and D's shared.
I look forward to reading further discussions on this topic and any criticisms (I do tend to
be a duffer) or comments would be most appreciated.
