Hi
Last time I was up there you could hire rowing boats and small motor boats at a site just outside Coniston village. This means Peel is 5 miles away or a 10 mile round trip.
There is a boathouse at the SE end of the lake that looks the part and may have been used in the film.
There are some nice books that attempt to locate AR sites and give directions.
