This short programme on the making of the 1974 'SA' film (shown 15th Feb in the UK) wasn’t bad, but I would have liked more technical detail of the filming – what we had was fascinating – and more clips from the amateur film. To make way for these, I would have had less footage of the dashing young man who presented the programme and who was rarely off camera. And perhaps a little less of the two actresses sharing rather stagey gossip. Personal opinion, of course.
And maybe the acknowledgment of TARS could have gone across screen a little more slowly. But 15 mins of prime TV time devoted to Ransome – manna from heaven!
