Feel I must comment for my own peace of mind, that the lakes shelve steeply and one goes from shallow to out of depth quickly and the water gets colder. Cramp can set in quickly under these conditions. I ususaly wear a bouyancy aid when out of my depth in the lakes (actualy I'm usualy wearing the bouyancy aid because I'm sailing and have fallen/jumped in.)
