As for including the characters in their appropriate settings, I wholeheartedly agree, considering the story would be rather unbelievable if the farmworkers were oxford graduates, and the farmers boys were all in Eton.
To each his own life. As far as I can tell, all of the farmers, and the others without too much formal education seem quite happy in the position that they are in.
