There is an article about Anne Bonny and Mary Read in the new MOSS, which is waiting at the mailing house now to go out. It is based on Captain Charles Johnson's A REAL HISTORY OF THE PIRATES (1762) which was discovered to be written by Daniel Defoe just two years after S&A was published. And it's illustrated by one of my grandfather's cigarette cards.
Cigarette cards feature quite heavily as illustrative material in the new MOSS, and I await an outcry from the no-smoking brigade.
