When I was at High School in the mid-1950's one of my class-mates was mad keen on scuba diving, for which he needed a boat that he didn't have and couldn't afford, as he'd spent all his dosh on the scuba gear. He flattened out some old corrugated roofing iron and built himself a boat with that. Leaks were sealed with a bituminous mastic. It was only a rowing boat, but it got him afloat, and only cost him the ingenuity. My worry is, that I don't see too much ingenuity around any more. I hope that it's because I'm not looking in the right places.
