It depends on the position he plays at. If he's a back then yes, he has to be the approximate size and weight of a tank, but as one of the forwards he can be quite small. Andrew Mehretens, the Canterbury Crusader and all Black forward & prime goal kicker is well under six feet tall and certainly not broad in any sense of the word.
