If CITN should be reprinted, I would like to see "Their Own Story" added. For those who have not read "Arthur Ransome & Captain Flint's Trunk" (also out of print) this is AR's original draft opening for "Peter Duck" and has the S&As and Captain Flint fogbound on a Norfolk wherry in the winter between S&A and SD (1929/30 or 1930/31 according to taste).

Although he abandoned the idea of PD as a narrative made up by the characters (as far as PD itself went - although SD mentions it) the extract is a fine piece of writing, quite up to AR's normal standard in his published works, and deserves a wider audience. As CITN is essentially a collection of unfinished works, "Their Own Story" would fit well as an addition to it.
