P.S. I suppose I should clarify my remarks about lack of events. I didn't mean to imply our Canadian colleagues didn't have events; they do have their yearly Corroboree, and we have had a few essentially local events in the U.S. over the last several years. But neither of us have the stream of things happening within a few hours' drive, nor the common knowledge that getting together frequently gives everyone.
