I can remember 'Meta' fuel - it was in tablets rather than cubes, and as a boy in the 1950s we used it in little tin boats. They had a flat 'boiler' with two tubes coming out if it and going through the boat's stern. The Meta tablet was lit and put under the boiler and after about 5 minutes a regular clicking noise was heard as the water expanded through the tubes and the boat moved forward. I was once given an up-market job with a coil- tubed 'superheated' boiler - it went like the clappers for a short time then blew up. Anyone else remember these? The only AR relevance I can think of is that Roger would have loved them.
