What's so old fashioned about ginger beer? I love the stuff, always have.

Plus, while the books may hold some gender stereotypes, AR shows admirable modernity in portraying the sexes. Indeed, it must have been refreshing to read the stories in the 30s with the equal standing of the two captains, the resourcefulness of Titty, and the sheer energy of Port and Starboard.
