Sorry to interrupt the discussion, but I think we need a little help from those of you who live in the Lake District. My wife and I will be visiting the Lake District for the first time from 16th to 19th August and are looking for B&B accommodation. I have been searching the Internet, and although I have found quite a few guest houses in Ambleside,Keswick, Kendal and Windermere, I have a feeling it will be very hard to find somewhere in such short notice. I haven't phoned these guest houses yet, but in case everywhere is booked, does anyone know of a reasonable B&B that might have vacancies for two people for the dates I have mentioned? Reasonable prices I have seen run from $16 to $25 per person per night. We just need a simple clean place for three, possibly four nights.
