Yes, half a crown was 2/6d or two shillings and sixpence! We had shillings (1/- or twelve pence), florins (2/- or two shillings) and half crowns (2/6d) in New Zealand, plus various commemorative crowns which were not circulated. And Australian, South African & Fijian coins would turn up too as they were the same size, although at the time the Australian coins were worth less and were sometimes refused.
