Hear Hear to that too! Along the coast from SW country there is an open space area of countryside which some years ago was designated a 'country park' (sic). Whereas you just turned up and had a pleasant walk around now there is an organised car park, signs everywhere like 'A Tree', 'A Blade of Grass', 'A Gate' all sponsored by a local business which in the past has polluted the local environment (I know I used to work for them). Why do councils etc assume that the countryside can only be enjoyed by non-country dwellers if it labelled and santised like a museum? (I don't mean museums are sanatised but applying museum display techniques to something natural)
