As I remember Edward Leithen found "Nothing left remarkable neath the visiting moon", Lamancha and Palliser Yeates(?) had the same complaint. Archie had initially joined in as part of a hypothetical conversation and was horrified when his elders decided to go ahead with the plan and quartered themselves on him. Archie was at least successful in love!
