Texas politics is based on the adage "The government is a Federal plot to take out the little man - generally known as Bubba. From what I have seen of the politics so far I am rapidly coming to that point of view." The Texan constitution gives limited power to the state, so that if they want ot raise taxes they go to the people, it is not pretty, but it is interesting.

But they are defineilty polite here even if they do favour capital punishment.

Real question: Where did AR get the name Bonnka? It is not in any dictionary and the only references to it on the web are COOTS IN THE NORTH and to a few peoples names.

I also did not know that the Roman fort Galava is located (or at least it's ruins) next to the head of the lake and presumably the site for the North Pole. I wonder why Ransome never mentioned it in his books?

Was RG Collingwood who wrote about Roman History and excavated the fort related to the Collingwood friend of AR?

John
