Well, it was only me that read my ARs, unlike yours which sound like they have been passed from reader to reader. My brothers were not particularly interested (and therefore did not crack the semaphore code with which I wrote my secret diary, ha ha!) A lot of the books do seem to have pages sellotaped in, though. In our house we did not colour in the illustrations of books, but we did used to tear off the margins and eat them.
