Or if, as I do, you use a Mac, you can use the Mac modifier keys. Opt-e then e (or whatever your chosen character) gives you é, which is e acute. So...
Opt-e is acute; é
Opt-` is grave; è.
Opt-i is circumflex; ê
Alt-n is a tilde; ã
Alt-u is an umlaut; ä
There are many more- every Mac comes with an application called Key Caps with which you can discover the lot. I'm quite surprised that, if the test post is getting it right, they are coming out properly. If not, do let me know...
