au contraire, she was obviously an early, active and proud member of The Lakeland Dialect Society,
or perhaps as "owts" is shorter than "anything is", mebbe she was just in a rush ?

just started scanning Noble family photos and post cards - many of farmers and farms just north of
Ullswater from 1900-40 and Lune Valley around 30-40s - recall only minor use of dialect on backs of pictures/postcards
