In that case Robert - do not, I beg you, come to live in Christchurch NZ. The school you attended is all!They say Christchurch is the most English city outside England - in my admittedly limited experience of the UK, I'd say, for snobbery, it has a large proportion of English cities beaten flat.
Fortunately I was born and bred elsewhere in NZ, my husband overseas (Birmingham actually) but my children constantly meet the query 'What school did you go to?'. Peculiar to Christchurch though - no one I know has encountered it elsewhere here.
