We're haveing the same controversy in Kansas, wind capitol of the world (and the Real OZ)! Might scare the cattle (I notice that they are grazing calmly next to I-70 with monster trucks roaring by) - ruin the view (Kansas does have fantastic scenery, believe or not) - etc., etc.. They say the ranchers will get $2000 per year per turbine -- might just keep some solvent --- the other alternative is the same old same old -- coal trains and let's drill in the Arctic for the six months worth of running giant SUVs.

Think of what Dick would have thought about the Wind Turbines! (Bet George Owdon would be driving a big gas guzzler monster truck!) Isn't it interesting how we are adapting Mr. Ransome's charactors to twenty first century life!
