The latest thing which seems to be catching on is safety helmets for dinghy sailing! We are supposed (I believe) to be doing this for fun, forsooth.
Good heavens, Yes! I didn't mean to imply that we should be wearing helmets while sailing. I meant that it is much more common now for kids to be wearing bicycle helmets when riding bicycles, whereas we never did as children. I have to remember to put one on when I head out on my bike, but for most kids these days, it's second nature.
