Aha, a kindred spirit! At last! The Mossberg Mariner is my choice, in fact, I have one. With of course, the extended mag tube, and synthetic riot-gun pistol-grip.

That is an interesting challenge - what actual guns would have been on board in that era? And if often thought, what gun(s) did AR own when living in the Lake District? We know he shot rabbits.

And, I've always wondered what pistol AR was carrying in Russia. This is referred to his biography and/or Brogan's Life of Arthur Ransome.

I will take this on as a challenge, with help from All Hands, of course.
(I also spend considerable time on the gun range.)
