My father who was a Lieutenant in the Third NZ Division (Div. Sigs.) in Egypt and Italy during WW2 often wore khaki shorts and indeed I remember him wearing his Army shorts right up to the late sixties when heavy garden work was in the offing. if anyone can tell me how to put a picture up on this board I've got one of himself and seven other officers 'somewhere in Europe' five of whom are in the selfsame shorts. Personally I think his shorts (and legs) are the best. A couple look like they are wearing the precurser of the mini skirt!
