Good grief! I'm 90 per cent certain that Duncan's Seldom Seen was once owned by Margaret Cornish Ridout, whose books I edited. She worked on the canals during the war and published a book about her experiences called TROUBLED WATERS (similar to Emma Smith's MAIDEN TRIP). She later wrote a collection of spooky stories set on the canals called (I think) STILL WATERS. Is it her boat? I shall try to find my copy of the book later tonight and see if it has a picture.

She was really great to work with.
