Antonia Forest has just died. Author of Autumn Term and Falconer’s Lure, she was one of the great writers for children in the second half of the 20th century.
I was fortunate enough to meet her for the first - and only - time this summer. And was fascinated to learn that she was not herself a sailor and had some friends check out those sections in Runaway Home.
