1) a pair of bent metal rods, L Shaped say 6" vertical through a closed fist and 10" horizontal. A coat hanger cut and bent will do. when passing over ground water the rods tend to move from parralel (pointing forward) to a cross over. Sometimes they move outwards though.
2) a forked (Y shaped)willow branch, about 6" on each end and about 1/4 inch in diameter. Hold the tops in each hand with the stem out to your front. The stem will bend down at the most optimim water spot.
