From my reading of a book on Capital punishment and the Bible, Baal used to demand sacrifices of children who were burnt to death - typically the first borne. The Jews were big on stopping this practice. Although I am sure a few people considered Nancy as deserving such a fate at times. (Seriously joking)
Just out of interest is there a Board opinion on Capital Punishment?
