Two of you will climb Kanchenjunga/Coniston when you go.
One will be the Swallow, Amazon or other character you enjoy most, wide-eyed and ready for adventure. This character will see the wild goats, climb the steepest bluffs, sleep in a ravine halfway up and find the tin in the cairn at the summit. The other will be the adult you are, taking the sensible route, prepared for the weather and aware of injury, and phlegmatic about the vandals at the top.
It doesn't matter at all, because hopefully you'll see anything and everything as the Swallows and Amazons did, and enjoy it mightily.
