So far as my permission goes, do as you see fit with any offering I make to the TARBOARD. If anything I put out there can be used to further the appreciation of All Things Ransome, then I am quite satisfied, indeed delighted.
The article in question, "A Sense of Place", was not written with any particular target in mind other than the TARBOARD, and so really is just a flow of conscienceness, a first draft actually, with the result being just as it came to me. Not sure the quality of form and language is all that noteworthy for publication, but others can pass that judgement better than I. If any editing be felt needed before moving on to other media, then have at it.
My intent was to just share a feeling, an emotion, a sense of "so near, yet so far" in that I got all these glimpses of that place, but have never had the pleasure of BEING there, to try to take it all in as a personal experience.
It is also a realization that we, the people all over this world, are all so different, and yet have some common ground. That we can get together on this forum with the common ground being the love for All Things Ransome, then we have done a good bit to bring so many people of such diverse backgrounds to a bit of understanding of each other.
In previous postings, I have asked many questions of those nearer to that place to try to understand those habits, customs, and modes of speech that to me are so strange, yet to the locals, they are really the only way to go. Again, we learn of each other. One opinion says "wierd"; another says "normal." But we learn of each other, and thus come together.
So do as you think best.
