Even if the Biblican account is taken literally, St Peter's boat was certainly much smaller than the 'Lord Hood' and herring are quite small fish. If the 153 were all of similar dimensions to 'the World's Whopper' - I imagine quite possible in a sub tropical sea - it would be quite a reasonable catch by any standards. It would certainly be as much of a problem to get ashore for one of our present beach fishing boats as it was for the disciples on the occasion recounted by St Luke.

We can't be far off topic. Fishing was at least as important to AR as sailing, and it rarely appears on TARBOARD or at TARS.
