"Just wondered if anyone has spotted the location of the Amazon boathouse as used in the S&A film? It is quite distinctive. Maybe someone has seen it while visiting the lakes?" asked Stuart.

It is on the Western shore of Coniston about 1 mile to the south of Peel Island. Just along the shore you can also find the film Beckfoot. This house is owned by private residents, so unfortunately you can't get B&B there!.

The real Amazon River, known to natives as the Crake, is down at the foot of the lake, the River is complete with a boathouse, with which AR was very familiar as a child, and Octopus Lagoon as well.
