My experience sailing, canoeing from Bank Ground (Holly Howe) or the Old Hall campsite to Peel Island is that if all goes well there should be no problem getting back for tea but that from say Ramp Holme to Low Wray (which looks as if it should be the site of Beckfoot) is quite a lomg way. Only an unquenchable optimist (such as Nancy)would set out after lunch and expect to carry out a quick bit of piracy, have a brew and still be home in time for tea.
" Oh a life on the ocean wave is better than going to sea,
A life on the ocean wave and home again for tea!"
