This is a plea for help to TARS who keep their Ransome bits and pieces
in better order than I do. Some time ago there appeared
(in Mixed Moss I believe) an extract from one of the
reports that AR wrote for the Manchester Guardian during the Russian
famine of 1921.In it AR describes seeing a starving child at a railway
station. The child has a cage with a sleek well-fed mouse(?), and
Ransome reflects that by the end of the train journey the child
is likely to be dead, but the mouse will certainly still be alive.
If you can let me have a reference to track down this quotation, or
better still, if you are willing to e-mail the text to me (it's quite
short) I shall be eternally grateful.

Tim
